Farm insurance is very similar to a standard homeowners policy in that it typically covers your home, personal property, liability, and additional living expenses. Farm insurance is comprised of both commercial and homeowners insurance elements because farmers and/or ranchers both live and work on the same property.

However, due to the unique aspects of each farm, there is no such thing as “standard” Farm insurance – an individual policy will need to be written for each farm.

Coverage may include barns, stables, silos, tractors, machinery, equipment and more, depending on your individual policy.

When purchasing a new farm insurance policy, your insurance agent will help you determine how broad or narrow your coverage should be to fit your individual needs.

Determining your needs will be based on the value of the property on your farm or ranch, the amount of liability protection you need, and other pertinent factors. An onsite visit by one of our Nationwide® certified farm insurance agents will be conducted to ensure that your investments are fully covered.
